Fort Riley, home of "The Big Red One," is known for its excellent training, abundant recreational opportunities, rich history, and tremendous relations with surrounding communities. Barton Community College's proud association with Fort Riley and the U.S. Army began in 1982 with a single training contract and has continued to grow in support of the Army, its soldiers, their families, and the Junction City community. Barton has been designated as a Military Friendly School.
The Barton Community College Fort Riley campus provides education and training, as well as selected specialized education and training to the entire state.
The Fort Riley campus administration building is located in Building 211 on the main post of Fort Riley. This main office and two of the computer labs are across from the Fort Riley Museum and the Custer House. The campus also provides instructional services for LSEC, Evening/weekend College Courses, Troop School and BSEP which are located on Custer Hill and on Main Post Building 215. Courses are also offered at a nearby outreach site located at Grandview Plaza. The Grandview Plaza outreach site is home to the Hazardous Materials Handling and Emergency Management programs, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic programs.
